About Rose Bowl Riders

We are an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote responsible horsemanship and a love for horses, through horsemanship clinics, trail rides, horse shows, lessons and classes, barbeques and breakfasts, community-based activities and other events for our members and the public.

Our History

Rose Bowl Riders in paradeRose Bowl Riders was founded in 1946 by a group of horse lovers from the Pasadena area. These early members liked to ride from the Upper Arroyo to Brookside Restaurant at the Rose Bowl, hence the name “Rose Bowl Riders.” The club came into existence with the help of the City of Pasadena.

To this day RBR members still use the same Arroyo trails for their breakfast rides to Brookside Park. The club has remained in the same location for over 50 years. We now boast more than 325 members, including children, families, and adults, all of whom love horses, the Arroyo, and being outside.
